To our surprise, Colton was born 30 days early. His size was just about right for his gestation time, but in the next four weeks, he will play a bit of catch up. He's getting used to eating from Mamma now. We had to supplement him with formula so that he wouldn't lose too much weight in the first few days. We are now offically 5 pounds, 12 ounces, up 3.5 ounces from his lowest weight of 5 pounds 8.5 ounces. So at this point, everything's looking great for our little peanut.

Status: Dad-to-be has been busy setting up the nursery furniture, and I'm busy organizing all of Baby Bishop's tiny little things in his new room.

Nursery Design: Nautical & aeronautical themes chosen. Color palate is navy, red, yellow, and sky blue (and other pastels).

Nursery Furniture: Aunt Kellie has passed on the baby furniture which Steven's dad and mom each bought for Kiaya so long ago. It's moved in, and now the nursery decorating can commence!

Baby Gear: We've got most the yellow gear which we need. Now all we need is the baby!

Baby Clothes: Cousin Caleb's hand-me-downs have arrived, and Baby Bishop is very grateful. Also, thanks to all our friends and family who have given Baby Bishop such cute little outfits.

It's a boy!!!!!

Steven and I found out that we're the soon to be proud parents of a baby boy. We got a pretty good mug shot of him, too. Now, nursery preparations and name deliberations can begin.

Week 17

Well, we got news that we're going to have our Baby Bishop ultrasound on the morning of May 23rd. Boy, I can't wait to see what our little miracle looks like. The last picture was, shall we say, less than flattering, since it was taken at 7 weeks. And, we have a long awaited recording of our baby's heartbeat from April 11th. It's a wav file, but the file hasn't been edited, so there's some extra noises which are kind of distracting.

Week 16

So, I'm coming up on hitting 4 months. Steven and I will find out (hopefully) the sex of Baby Bishop sometime in week 18. Now, we're telling more friends and extended family about Baby Bishop, and we're beginning to investigate nursery decorations and baby "yellow" gear. I'm filling out more and more, but I'm still not big enough to fill out my maternity clothes. For now, I'm using the rubber band trick to make my pants stay put.
