So, now that I'm officially a "supermom," I've got all the time in the world to tell you all about my son.
27 weeks
Baby Bishop and I are doing pretty well. The intense heat of summer gets to me at times, but fortunately, I have air conditioning at work. That makes the heat of summer a whole lot easier to deal with. Baby Bishop is kicking quite a bit. His favorite time to make his presense known is right before I go to bed. The stress of work is settling down quite a bit now, and Steven and I are really looking forward to the boat trip with Grandpa Marty, Aunt Dana & Uncle Mike, and Cousin Caleb. On the boat trip, Dana and I will work out all the details for the party this August in honor of Baby Bishop.
Week 26
Baby Bishop sure is learning how to move around more. For the first time, I saw my belly jump a bit from Baby Bishop's kicking. He seems to be an active baby, but at this point, it's not at all uncomfortable...mostly, it's just an odd sensation to feel your belly move by itself. Aunt Dana and I are busy planning Baby Bishop's shower, and Steven and I are both very excited to see our friends and family whom we haven't seen in a while. Work is still quite busy, but I'm managing to get plenty of rest. Also, I'm dealing with the stress and demands better, being pregnant and all. However, I REALLY am looking forward to my maternity leave, which I'm betting will begin sometime in October. The timing is all up to Baby Bishop, though. :)
Week 24
Baby's continuing to grow a little bit every day, and I still haven't gotten started on my little gift to him. Uncle Jones made his way back last weekend for the very first Seafair Marathon, and Baby Bishop and I were there to cheer him on. We got to (slow) jog along with him for the last quarter mile or so to the finish. Boy, that was fun. But alas, now he has gone back to join his fellow Marines. Next time we see him, Jones will be able to hold Baby Bishop! We can't wait. Grandpa Marty, Aunt Dana, and her family have just finished their visit with the Finnish relatives in the Lappland region of Finland and are now making their way back to Helsinki via my favorite glass blowing town, Iittala. I am sure that they're enjoying themselves. From what I hear, Caleb was the hit of the party, since he was the cutest little 8 month old there. :) We can't wait to welcome Grandpa Marty home again, and we really can't wait to see Aunt Dana & family when they come out for the annual boat trip in August. Not much new news on the medical front, we've got confirmation that my blood pressure is great, so that reduces the risk of needing bedrest later on in the pregnancy. Blood sugars are still doing pretty well. Stress from work is probably my biggest complaint as I am finishing my 6th month.
Bye Bye Uncle Jones!!!
Today, Uncle Jones left his home and loved ones once again to serve his country. We, the Bishop clan, spent the holiday weekend with him at his sister's place up north. Jones will be in our hearts and prayers, and we all can't wait to welcome him home again. Semper Fi!
